Gilles Rotzetter: What’s Broken Becomes Better
Vienna: Verlag für moderne Kunst, 2017

Christopher Howard contributed “From the Analogue Mountain to the Digital Snake: Gilles Rotzetter, Music, and Art,” an essay on the intersection of art history and indie music in the work of the artist Gilles Rotzetter, to a publication that accompanied Gilles Rotzetter: Swiss Atom Love, an exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Luzern in Switzerland. The show was organized by Eveline Suter and took place June 10–August 20, 2017.

In addition to texts by Howard, Suter, Fanni Fetzner, and Laurence Schmidlin, the book Gilles Rotzetter: What’s Broken Becomes Better gathers images of a series of primitively executed and colorful paintings, drawings, and installations that address the Swiss atom bomb.
